MelodicRock Classics ha annunciato la pubblicazione per il 29 Marzo di un cofanetto da 6 CD del songwriter e cantante svedese Chris Antblad dal titolo Collected Works – Volume 1.

Il set da collezione in edizione limitata (500 unità) contiene sei degli album in studio registrati dal musicista negli ultimi anni, tutti precedentemente disponibili solo tramite streaming e punti vendita digitali. Si tratterà quindi della sua prima uscita fisica dopo A New Dawn del 2012.

Chris Antblad ha avuto un ruolo importante nel songwriting e nel talento vocale dietro il full-length degli Spin Gallery, Standing Tall, uscito su Atenzia Records nel 2004. Quello è stato solo l’inizio, con il cantante che ha poi ha trascorso gran parte della sua vita adulta come musicista e soprattutto come cantautore.

Un mix di versatilità ed eccezionale lirismo ha portato negli anni a molte collaborazioni interessanti. Principalmente, la scrittura delle canzoni si è concentrata sulla musica rock e country: due stili musicali che fanno affidamento su parti vocali e arrangiamenti avanzati.

Il songwriting lo ha portato a Nashville e alle collaborazioni con alcuni dei suoi eroi come John Bettis, Gary Baker, Eric Martin, Paul Carrack, Michael Jay, John Capek, Randy Goodrum, Jay Graydon, Brett James e Wayne Kirkpatrick. Ma il suo interesse per AOR e Melodic Rock è sempre rimasto come risultato della sua crescita negli anni Ottanta e lo ha portato ad una collaborazione di lunga data con Joe Lynn Turner e ad alcune apparizioni note, una delle quali è stata appunto il già citato progetto Spin Gallery.
