E’ sul mercato tramite Lucifer’s Records la compilation commemorativa Celebrating The Life Of John Lawton, una raccolta su 2CD con 33 canzoni che riflette la carriera del compianto cantante dai primi anni Settanta fino al 2015, incluse molte rarità scoperte solo di recente. Il set include anche una registrazione live degli Uriah Heep inedita con l’attuale line-up e rari outtakes.

John Lawton – scomparso il 29 Giugno 2021 – registrava da oltre 50 anni ed era meglio conosciuto come frontman del gruppo hard rock progressivo tedesco Lucifer’s Friend, nonché come cantante degli Uriah Heep nella seconda metà dei Seventies. Ha anche registrato e fatto Tour con The Les Humphries Singers e – successivamente – ha inciso con gruppi e progetti quali Rebel, Zar, Gunhill, The Lawton-Dunning Project, The John Lawton Band, OTR e The Intelligent Music Project, oltre ad alcuni dischi da solista e varie apparizioni come special guest. L’ultimo lavoro di John è stato Black Moon del 2019 coi Lucifer’s Friend.

I 33 pezzi della release sono stati selezionati personalmente dalla moglie di John, Iris Lawton, che non ha voluto presentare un semplice Best Of, bensì tantissime canzoni che non sono mai state ascoltate, alcune delle quali trovate su vecchie cassette. Tutta la musica è stata magnificamente rimasterizzata e suona alla grande.
