Celebrando quest’anno il suo 40° Anniversario, Creatures Of The Night del 1982 è stato un album fondamentale nel catalogo dei KISS, diventando in breve un classico di culto ed uno dei dischi preferiti in assoluto dai fan.

Il 18 Novembre, UMe pubblicherà Creatures Of The Night 40 come 5CD + Blu-ray Audio Super Deluxe Edition, 3LP Deluxe, 2CD Deluxe, 1LP Half-Speed ​​Master 180gm, 1CD Remaster, così come download digitale da 5CD in edizione Super Deluxe + Streaming ed una versione solo download digitale da 2CD più un vinile esclusivo a colori.

Dopo aver ricanalato i loro sforzi per fare consapevolmente un ritorno all’Hard Rock per cui erano conosciuti, i KISS – Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons ed Eric Carr – hanno scatenato nel mondo Creatures Of The Night nell’Ottobre del 1982. Oltre ad un sound più duro, l’album è anche noto per il suo mood più heavy e dark. Il singolo I Love It Loud è stato eseguito in quasi tutti i successivi Tour della band, mentre War Machine, la ballad I Still Love You e la title-track sono stati ampiamente presenti nei live set per diversi anni. Degno di nota è anche Killer, che ha caratterizzato la prima collaborazione del gruppo nel songwriting con il futuro chitarrista Vinnie Vincent.

Creatures Of The Night ha ricevuto riconoscimenti su magazine come Kerrang! e Guitar Player, che hanno entrambi posizionato il full-length nella loro Top 5 della classifica di fine anno del 1982.

The Creatures Of The Night 40 Super Deluxe vanta 103 brani in totale con ben 75 pezzi inediti. Recentemente rimasterizzato su CD 1, l’album originale non ha mai suonato meglio. I CD 2 e 3 contengono 34 demo, rarità e outtake, tra cui gemme inedite come Deadly Weapon (Penny Lane Demo), Not For The Innocent (Demo) e Betrayed (Outtake). I CD 4 e 5 evidenziano 26 incredibili registrazioni dal vivo della tavola armonica del Creatures Tour ’82/’83 e sette effetti sonori super rari della Tournèe, tutti incisi e archiviati dall’ingegnere del suono del Creatures Tour, Harry Witz. Il disco Blu-ray Audio mette in mostra un mix surround 5.1 dai multitraccia dell’album originale più il mix stereo ad alta risoluzione del 1982 appena rimasterizzato del disco originale.
