Slade: a Settembre la compilation Cum On Feel The Hitz

Formati a Wolverhampton nel 1966, gli Slade vantano una carriera da alta classifica che durò tre decenni.

Il gruppo fu inarrestabile negli anni Settanta e divenne ben presto una delle band più grandi d’Europa, pubblicando 6 album di successo, tra cui tre numero 1 e diverse grandi hit. La sensazionale collaborazione di songwriting di Noddy Holder e Jim Lea fornì una colonna sonora alla Glam Generation dell’epoca, e con una serie di 17 singoli Top 20 consecutivi tra il 1971 e il 1976 nessun altro del periodo fece di meglio.

Negli anni Ottanta, gli Slade ebbero una grande rinascita, sostenuta da una spettacolare apparizione al Reading Festival del 1980. Fra i successi dell’epoca, la ballata My Oh My, che raggiunse la posizione n° 2 nel 1983, e un anno dopo l’anthemica Run Runaway, che consolidò l’eredità di uno dei più grandi act di sempre del Regno Unito.

Il prossimo 25 Settembre, BMG pubblicherà Cum On Feel The Hitz, una nuova compilation comprendente tutti i singoli della band dal 1970 al 1991: Coz I Luv You, Take Me Bak ‘Ome, Mama Weer All Crazee Now, Cum On Feel The Noize, Skweeze Me, Pleeze Me, Merry Xmas Everybody e tantissimi altri ancora.
