MR.it: Hi guys, thank you so much for taking the time to reply to this interview and welcome on
Melodicrock.it. How things are going?
AR: Hi! Thank you. We just started rehearsing after some time off during the holidays, so it feels great!

MR.it: I came across the band firstly in 2016 thanks to your EP and its video single “Old Flames Die Hard”, which grabbed my attention quite instantly. How and when Aerodyne born?
AR: Well, the band started about two years ago now, in January 2016. Our previous bands had split up or had some problems, so we decided to get a fresh start.

MR.it: I’ve been quite happy when Street Symphonies Records announced your signing, the guys of the label are doing a great work recently, especially now that they founded their Burning Minds Music Group. How did you come in contact with them?
AR: They noticed our name when Daniel did some backing vocals on the new Crazy Lixx album. I guess they looked us up and saw the “Old Flames Die Hard” video and contacted us.

MR.it: Your new album “Breaking Free” is getting great feedbacks everywhere, and our editor Marco Ardemagni gave it
a strong 80/100. When did you start the recordings and how long did the whole process take?
AR: Yeah, It’s really cool! Well, the whole process took about five months. A lot longer than we expected. It had much to do with our full-time jobs and so on.
We could more or less only record during the weekends. Really frustrating! Speaking of frustrating, we also had some technical problems
as well during the process. If I remember it correctly, we had to re-record the song “Breaking Free”!

MR.it: By the way, I’ve seen today that the first pressing is already sold out in less than one month, that’s really
a great result. I guess you’re quite excited!
AR: Of course, it’s great news!

MR.it: Let’s talk about the two singles, “Comin’ For You” and “We All Live A Lie”, that I both consider amazing tunes. Who did the video for the first one? And by the way, I love the lyric video of We All Live A Lie”!
AR: Robert Johnson, former bass player of the Swedish Punk Rock band “NitroDive”. He also did the video for
“Old Flames Die Hard”.
Yeah, the lyric video is really cool!

MR.it: I noticed in the credits that Danny Rexon from Crazy Lixx is also involved in the album as special guest.
Where and how did you meet him?
AR: We stayed in touch with him after Daniel did some backing vocals. We asked him if he would do some backing vocals on the song “Run Away” just for fun. He helped us out and the result is fantastic!

MR.it: What’s next for Aerodyne? Are you already working on new material?
AR: We have a lot going on, actually. Really exciting times ahead! We can’t tell you more about that now tough. But yes, we have written a bunch of new songs!
