Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin e Black Sabbath rappresentano senza dubbio la grande trinità dell’hard & heavy britannico, grazie ad una serie di brani ormai entrati nella leggenda, e Rhino Records è pronta per celebrare le suddette band con alcune compilation definitive.

In merito ai Deep Purple, la label pubblicherà “A Fire In The Sky” – in singolo CD o set di tre dischi – in data 8 Settembre per il Nord America, con una successiva versione internazionale più tardi nel corso dell’anno. Una versione a tre LP sarà disponibile dal 3 Novembre. Ogni formato comprende una selezione di brani scelti tra i 19 studio album che i Deep Purple hanno registrato tra il 1968 e il 2013.

La single version di “A Fire In The Sky” dispone di 20 canzoni e si concentra principalmente sui singoli della band. Le grandi hit sono canzoni del calibro di “Smoke On The Water” e “Highway Star”, ma anche gemme quali “Perfect Strangers”, title-track dell’omonimo disco di platino del 1984, e “Hell To Pay” da “Now What?!” del 2013.

La versione a tre CD si immerge ancora più in profondità nel passato dei Purple con 40 canzoni e include almeno una traccia da ogni studio album fino a “Now What?!”, fornendo una vera retrospettiva delle varie incarnazioni del gruppo nel corso degli anni.

Ian Gillan e compagni saranno presto negli Stati Uniti in un mostruoso Tour da co-headliner assieme all’altrettanto leggendario Alice Cooper.
