Thin Lizzy: in arrivo un box set da 6 CD con 74 unreleased track

Per celebrare i 50 anni dei Thin Lizzy, Universal ha annunciato il box set Rock Legends, prima puntata di un programma di rilascio dall’archivio di prodotti rock irlandesi. La notizia è arrivata ieri, in quello che sarebbe stato il 71° compleanno del frontman Phil Lynott, nato il 20 Agosto 1949.

Il cofanetto – che uscirà il 23 Ottobre – conterrà sei CD, un DVD Super Deluxe Edition, per un mastodontico totale di 99 tracce, ben 74 delle quali inedite e 83 che non sono mai state disponibili su Compact o in streaming.

Le song abbracciano l’intera carriera dei Lizzy e sono state recentemente masterizzate da Andy Pearce. La vasta gamma di materiale inedito include demo, sessioni radiofoniche, registrazioni dal vivo e rari single edit. La tracklist di Rock Legends è stata stilata dal celebre chitarrista del gruppo, Scott Gorham, insieme all’esperto della band, Nick Sharp.

Il DVD presenta il documentario di un’ora della BBC dal titolo Bad Reputation, con la performance dei Lizzy nello speciale televisivo di Rod Stewart, A Night On The Town, del 1976.

Completano il tutto, le repliche dei programmi del Tour della band, raccolte in un libro rilegato, i tanto ricercati libri di poesie di Phil Lynott, quattro stampe del cover artist del gruppo, Jim Fitzpatrick, ed un libro con citazioni di tutti i membri del gruppo sulle loro esperienze.
