I Led Zeppelin hanno annunciato la pubblicazione di un expanded Box Set del loro live album e concert film del 1976, The Song Remains The Same.

L’uscita – prevista per il 7 Settembre – vedrà l’aggiunta dei filmati inediti di quattro tracce, un sound 5.1 e una miriade di altre caratteristiche. Oltre all’edizione Super Deluxe Boxed Set, la release e il film saranno disponibili in CD, Vinile, Blu-ray, Streaming e Digitale.

The Song Remains The Same è stato registrato in uno stand di tre notti al Madison Square Garden di New York nel Luglio 1973, a conclusione del Tour nordamericano a supporto dell’album Houses Of The Holy.

Come per le uscite precedenti riguardanti il catalogo della band, Jimmy Page ha supervisionato la rimasterizzazione del nuovo cofanetto, facendo alcune modifiche alla sequenza delle tracce per permettere alla versione di 29 minuti di Dazed And Confused di adattarsi ad un lato dell’edizione in Vinile.

L’edizione Super Deluxe comprende due CD, quattro album in Vinile, due DVD, una scheda di Download ad alta definizione, un libro di 28 pagine con foto del gruppo, immagini dal film e un saggio di Cameron Crowe, più una replica del programma dal Tour del Giappone del 1977.
