Styx: Dennis De Young annuncia il The Grand Illusion 40th Anniversary Tour in USA

L’ex storico cantante/tastierista degli Styx, Dennis De Young, ha annunciato uno speciale Tour per celebrare il 40° Anniversario dell’iconico album del 1977, “The Grand Illusion”. Lo show includerà l’intero disco ed altri successi della leggendaria band come “Babe”, “Mr. Roboto”, “The Best Of Times”, “Lady”, “Renegade”, “Blue Collar Man”, “Suite Madame Blue” e altri ancora.

“The Grand Illusion è stato il più grande successo degli Styx, e quest’anno la mia band ed io vivremo il suo sound e il suo spirito in tutti i concerti che suoneremo in America”, ha dichiarato Dennis.

“The Grand Illusion” è il settimo studio album degli Styx, lanciato verso il successo soprattutto dall’hit-single “Come Sail Away” – scritto da De Young – arrivato alla posizione n° 8 della Billboard Top 100 del 1977. Il disco ha venduto milioni di copie ed ha dato al gruppo una certificazione multi-platino, portandolo al pieno trionfo commerciale.

“Ho scritto il tema dietro The Grand Illusion dopo aver osservato come la cultura americana crea le illusioni attraverso la pubblicità e l’intrattenimento per convincerci che le nostre vite sono carenti e per venderci vari prodotti, capendo però alla fine che, nonostante queste illusioni e il clamore creati, nel profondo siamo tutti uguali…”, ha aggiunto Dennis.
