Desmond Child.

Stiamo parlando di uno dei più grandi songwriter / produttore della scena musicale mondiale. Di matrice USA, nasce in Florida a Gainsville il 28 Ottobre 1953 da padre ungherese e madre cubana.
Dopo la separazione dei genitori Desmond emigrò a New York, la città che gli ha saputo regalare la scena rock degli anni ’70. In quei tempi infatti la capitale del New Jersey offriva molto ai musicisti alle prime armi e Mr. Child aveva talento da vendere.

Fondò così i DESMOND CHILD AND ROUGE assieme a tre brave coriste. In pratica “Le Rouge” erano rappresentate da : Maria Vidal, Diane Grasselli e Miriam Valle.
Con all’attivo due album : DESMOND CHILD AND ROUGE e RUNNERS IN THE NIGHT , (più ricercati oggi che in passato ) la durata del quartetto sarà breve.
La band si scioglierà e Desmond si allontanò dagli stati uniti per intraprendere dei viaggi spirituali, in oriente.
All’inizio degli anni 80 torna in patria rinnovato da questo periodo di riflessione. Si riavvicina alla musica in un altro ruolo a lui meno consuento ma che di gran lunga gli darà ragione. Infatti non sarà più musicista in prima linea ma “dietro le quinte” nei panni di compositore e produttore.
In tutto il periodo zen Desmond aveva avuto modo di collezionare nella sua testa tutte quelle melodie che faranno grandi numerosi artisti negli anni a vnire.

Composizioni irresistibili, dal forte impatto emotivo con quei ritornelli a cui non si può di certo rimanere indifferenti.
In poco tempo il nome di Desmond Child è il più richiesto fra tutti quei gruppi volenterosi di un rilancio discografico, sia da tutti gli artisti emergenti speranzosi di avere il brano da classifica per farsi notorietà.
Dopo tutta una serie di successi strepitosi (la lista la troverete più avanti), Desmond decise di mettersi in proprio. “Discipline” sarà il suo primo e unico album da solista.

E’ il 1991 e DISCIPLINE è divenuto negli anni un classico AOR. Già recensito nei CLASSICI su questo sito (qui la recensione).
