Il frontman dei Def Leppard, Joe Elliott, ha discusso con la celebre rivista americana Billboard del nuovo album della band.
Il vocalist ha raccontato di avere 15 canzoni pronte, che si possono considerare “straordinariamente forti”, con un sound fresco e familiare.

“L’album suona alla Def Leppard”, ha dichiarato Elliott, “ma è come se la band avesse un po’ allungato le ali. Ci sono un paio di brani legati al nostro classico DNA, riconoscibili istantaneamente, ma c’è anche tanta roba un po’ diversa, che rappresenta quello che siamo noi oggi. Alla nostra età abbiamo cercato di evitare di scrivere tutte party song, sarebbe stato sciocco. Come quando tu pensi agli AC/DC…sai benissimo cosa aspettarti. Noi invece siamo ora un po’ più alla Queen, dove accanto ad un lento puoi avere una grande canzone rock, che viaggiano fianco a fianco nello stesso disco.”

Elliott continua raccontando che la band pensava di poter far uscire il lavoro già questa Primavera, ma è probabile che il tutto sarà posticipato di qualche mese.

“La cosa essenziale è che facciamo un buon disco. Per noi è davvero importante mantenere un’alta qualità, cosa che abbiamo sempre cercato di offrire.”

I Def Leppard hanno inoltre appena annunciato un estensivo Tour in Nord America la prossima Estate, assieme ad altre due big come Styx e Tesla.
